On this tour you will drive with an Offroad bus into the heart of the Icelandic highlands to “Askja”. “Aksja” is a volcano which is hundreds of thousands years old. It is located in the north of the glacier Vatnajökull. Within the Nordic mythology, Askja is the same as „Asgard“, the home of the gods and the god Odin.
In this bizarre moon landscape NASA simulated the moon landing. On the way to Askja you will pass the volcanic area Dyngjufjöll and the waterfall Gáski and Gljúfrasmiður. A short hike to the lake Öskjuvatn and a possibility for a bath in the warm Crater Lake Víti are absolute highlights of a visit to Iceland!

- Equipment: Warm underclothing, wind and water resistant clothing, hat and gloves, hiking boots, sun cream, sunglasses. Lunch package – there is no possibility to buy food or drinks.
