You will see the most fascinating miracles of nature which Iceland has to offer. You will visit the „Golden Circle” which includes the old parliament Þingvellir, Geysir and the golden waterfall Gullfoss. In the south of Iceland you will stay overnight on the volcanic island „Vestmannaeyjar“. Further highlights in the south are the amazing waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, the cliffs of Dyrhólaey and the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlon. A hike on the top of volcano Hverfjall or a visit of the geothermal area Krafla at lake Mývatn will also offer unforgettable and lasting impressions. You also will visit the highlands of Landmannalaugar, the so called rainbow mountains. In the west of Iceland, you can take the ferry to Flatey Island and you will get to see the breathtaking Nationalpark of Snæfellsnes. Arrival
After your arrival at Keflavik airport in Iceland, an airport shuttle will take you to your accommodation in Reykjavik. Depending on your time of arrival, a visit to the famous SPA Blue Lagoon is recommended. A bath in milky blue hot geothermal water within a black lava landscape is probably one of the most unique in the whole world.
Golden Circle
Today you will visit the highlights of the „Golden Circle“. The oldest parliament of Europe “Þingvellir” is located at the drift of tectonic plates between Europe and America. You will also visit the amazing “Geysir” and the golden waterfall “Gullfoss”. Don’t miss the opportunity for a hot bath in the “Laugarvatn Fontana”. The accommodation is located in the south of the Golden Circle.
Landmannalaugar
Landmannalaugar is known for its colourful mountain scenery. You will travel to Landmannalaugar with an „Offroad-Bus“ (Bus ticket is not included). Guests who have booked a 4×4 rental car can drive to Landmannalaugar by themselves on a typical Icelandic off-road street – pure adventure! In Landmannalaugar you can go into a natural hot pot, take a volcano hike in the colourful mountains or even go for a horse ride on the famous Icelandic horses. After visiting Landmannalaugar you will drive back to your accommodation.
Westman Islands
A ferry will take you to the so called “Westman Islands”. The latest eruption on these volcanic islands took place in the year 1973. You can hike on the Volcano Eldfell or go for a walk along the coastline where you will more than likely see some puffin birds. Your accommodation will be on the Westman Islands.
Amazing South Coast
In the morning the ferry will take you back onshore. You will then visit the amazing waterfalls Seljalandsfoss, Glufrafoss and Skógafoss. The cliffs of Dyrhólaey, the black beach in Vík and the breathtaking views of glaciers will create unforgettable memories.
South Coast & Glacier Lagoon
Today you will experience some more highlights in the south of Iceland. In particular a boat trip on the glacier lagoon “Jökulsárlon” or a hike in the Skaftafell Nationalpark next to the biggest glacier in Europe which will be sure to inspire you.
East Fjords
Today you will experience the landscape of the Eastern Fjords. This region is characterised by lonesome beaches, deserted villages and beautiful Fjord scenery.
Lake Mývatn & Waterfall Dettifoss
On the way to Lake Mývatn you will pass the huge waterfalls of Dettifoss and Selfoss. A short hike to the Canyon of Ásbyrgi is highly recommended. In Húsavík you have the possibility of joining a whale watching tour after you arrive at your accommodation close to Lake Myvatn.

A round trip of lake Mývatn gives you the opportunity to explore many highlights including the bizarre lava fields of Dimmuborgir, the volcanic crater Hverfjell, the geothermal area Námaskarð and the volcanic lake Víti or the „Mývatn Nature Bath“.
Waterfall Goðafoss & Akureyri
On the way to Akureyri you will visit the waterfall Goðafoss. The town Akureyri is the second biggest town in Iceland and has numerous sights which can be visited – e.g. the Nonni-Museum, the Art-Hall, the Ice-Cathedral or the botanic garden.
Snaefellsnes
On the way to Stykkishólmur, which is known as one of most beautiful fishermen villages in Iceland, you will visit numerous sights such as the Turf-church Varmahlið. Your accommodation will be next to Stykkishólmur on the Snæfellsnes peninsula.
Snæfellsnes Nationalpark
Today you can take the ferry to the quaint island Flatey. Thousands of Puffins can be seen on the Island. Onshore you can visit the farm Bjarnahöfn, which is produces the traditional Icelandic food known as „rotten shark”. The trip through the Snæfellsnes Nationalpark is one of the highlights of the tour. You will see the glacier Snæfellsnes, the cliffs of Lóndranger or make an amazing hike either through lava fields or along the coast line.
Reykjavik
The route in the south of the peninsula leads you to lava fields, to Whale Fjord or to a natural hot spring. If you want you can ride with Icelandic horses on a white beach. Reykjavik will welcome you in the evening.
Reykjavik & Return Trip
Depending on your departure time you have time for a city visit of Reykjavik or visit the amazing Blue Lagoon with its milky blue geothermal SPA.

IcelandTour.info currently does not book flights. However, we will be happy to provide advice on this topic and adapt our holidays to the flight options available.
Additional Rental Car Insurance
CDW (Vehicle Damage Cover) insurance is included in the travel package. The excess is is 300,000 ISK (depending on the exchange rate approx. $2,500). Not included in CDW is for instance: intentional damage, damage to wheels, damage caused by crossing rivers, damage by stones on the windshield, damage to the underneath of the car, damage from ash, etc. The excess can be reduced for an extra fee of 120,000 ISK. Extra insurance can be taken out to cover against damage from falling stones and ash. We will be happy to provide advice on this topic.
- Child seats can be hired for €50.
- Drivers must be at least 20 years old (25 years for SUVs).
- An international credit card is required when picking up the rental vehicle.

Increase of Icelandic VAT
The Icelandic government is planning an increase of VAT for hotels from 7,5% to 25%. The date and actual percentage is currently not yet known. This increase could lead to a price increase for existing bookings of up to 7 %
